Ground Broken on 2nd Home in New Hope Acres
State Representative Rick Jasperse, home buyer Virginia Soulis. Habitat President Steve Greenwell and County Commission Chairman Rob Jones officially break ground for the second home to be built in New Hope Acres.
Virginia was selected as purchaser after applying and completing the necessary documentation so that she could be vetted along with the other applicants. All potential Habitat home buyers submit to having their credit history inspected, proving that they have the ability to pay and that their past payment history meets certain guidelines. In addition to making a down payment each adult home buyer and resident must also agree to performing 200 hours of sweat equity on their home or that of other Habitat home builds.
Construction should start shortly and hopefully be completed in 5-6 months weather permitting.
